MIRAI a265 Flush Cut Saw - Cushion Grip
MIRAI a265 Flush Cut Saw - Cushion Grip
This is a Japanese Flush-cut saw blade for use with Sugita's Woodworking Method and most other applications. It is recommended to purchase at least one additional saw blade, as it can be used as spacers with Sugita's method. Mr. Sugita tested the majority of flush cut pull saw blades in the past which were sold in Japan. The performance of Sugita's Woodworking Method requires a saw blade with the saw kerf parallel to the ripping guide when the stock is clamped and the cut is made from the end of the stock. In this test, most saw blades did not have saw kerfs that were parallel to the guide. The only saw that performed well was a product named Craft 145. However, the Craft 145 is a shorter saw with a blade length of only 145 mm, making it unsuitable for applications such as furniture making.
Therefore, the manufacturer was asked to produce the MIRAI a265 flush cut pull saw blade. The performance of this saw blade is excellent. We invite you to make bridle joints (p. 87 of the book) with the two saw blades and compare them - you will be amazed at the performance of the MIRAI a265 flush cut pull saw blade. An additional feature of the MIRAI a265 is the convex contour of the blade. This particular contour was manufactured to reduce the force required to pull the entire saw blade, as only a portion of the blade contacts the wood when cutting.
The cushioned pistol-type grip allows for easy, non-slip handling.
