MIRAI Aluminum Case Miter Cutting Jig
MIRAI Aluminum Case Miter Cutting Jig
A box cut with a case miter joint will have a clean and beautiful appearance because the ends are concealed, but making this can be a difficult task. Following Sugita's Woodworking Method, the aim is to complete the miter joint by simply cutting with a hand saw, without trimming to fit with a hand plane or other tools. The results are in line with this aim. When cutting the board, the saw is tilted 45 degrees and special attention needs to be paid to pulling the saw straight. The Aluminum Case Miter Jig is also designed to use with the MIRAI a265 Flush Cut Pull Saw Blade.
The Case Miter Support, shown in the Instruction Sheet, requires individual production. This shop-made support enables the user to tilt the Case Miter Cutting jig within the workbench vise. This allows for cutting the workpiece without tilting the saw blade.
A 4x10 adhesive magnetic sheet is included with the Case Miter Cutting Jig
