The Pipe Saw Flat 225 is a non-set flush-cut saw which is useful for shallower kerfs in wood, as well as cutting smoothly through plastic, acrylic, and PVC. Similar to the MIRAI a265 flush cut saw, the Pipe Saw Flat's teeth pattern does not protrude outward like a set-tooth saw; therefore, the non-set pattern enables a straighter cut and minimizes scratches onto the workpiece.
Another useful function of the Pipe Saw Flat 225 is the ability of the user to create a dovetail or box joint saw blade spacer, see p. 244 in the book Woodworking Joinery by Hand. By grinding and beveling the saw blade into a small spacer (see also p.250), the user can accurately position a home-made tail or pin guide in order to cut the desired angle. This spacer function is possible due to the kerf being the same as the MIRAI a265 flush-cut saw.
